CURTIS FULLER
- SELF-

BLUE NOTE BLP 15783
ORIGINAL MONO D.G. / 12" LP

LP is in EX/EX+ condition.
Light to moderate surface marks are present, however these flaws are topical only and the actual audio quality far outweighs any appearance of previous use. This lp has been fully play graded to strictly conform to this condition, and is fully guaranteed.

The fidelity is excellent, with no audible tracking distortion(s) of any kind.  Although intermittent background noise may occur, it will be below the level of audible distraction. This lp play grade's virtually as near mint.

Jacket is in NM/EX+ condition. Original heavy and glossy (no "R" ) jacket is nice. There is minor wear on the top right corner, as in image, and light soiling on the back. One of the top jazz trombonists to emerge during the second half of the 1950s, Curtis Fuller always had his own voice out of the J.J. Johnson tradition. He recorded no less than six albums as a leader in 1957, but Vol. 3 differs from the others in that for the first time he is teamed with a trumpeter, Art Farmer. Fuller and Farmer, along with Benny Golson, would form the frontline of the Jazztet three years later. With a superb rhythm section that includes Sonny Clark, the quintet performs "It's Too Late Now" and five Fuller originals including a tribute to Miles Davis on "Two Quarters Of A Mile."
