It was released in 1988 on the 'Curtom Records' label (cat. no. CUR 2002) and comes in a card picture sleeve with a poly inner. The shrinkwrap is still intact, but it has been slit down the open side.
'Super Fly' was the third studio album by American soul musician Curtis Mayfield, originally released in July 1972 on 'Curtom Records'. It was released as the soundtrack for the Blaxploitation film of the same name. Widely considered a classic of 1970s soul and funk music, 'Super Fly' was almost an immediate hit - its sales bolstered by two million-selling singles, 'Freddie's Dead' and the title track, both US Top 10 hits. It is one of the few soundtracks to out-gross the film it accompanied. Along with Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On', 'Super Fly' was one of the pioneering soul concept albums, with its then-unique socially aware lyrics about poverty and drug abuse making the album stand out.
The album is near-mint, and the vinyl appears unmarked and is unplayed. The sleeve is in very good condition, save for very minimal signs of wear due to shelf storage. The shrinkwrap is still intact, but it has been slit down the open side.
