Description
This auction is for the recent Art Edition of Cyclobe's Wounded Galaxies Tap At The Window which includes a black vinyl copy of that LP and also a CD. Also included in this auction is the again-recent Cyclobe 7" The Eclipser.
This Art Edition (Cat no. NAOS 01) exists in an edition of 45 copies only (this one being no. 38). The LP is a white label black vinyl 12" with hand-written labels by Ossian Brown. The sleeve features artwork by OB which has been hand-gilded and chemically treated, and signed by OB on the reverse of the sleeve. This in turn has been wrapped in an acid-free paper sheet to protect the artwork - it was not possible to remove the sleeve from the protective sheet without the possibilty of damaging the outer paper, so I've taken the photos below with the sheet still in place - any prospective buyer will then have the choice of whether or not to remove it themselves. As a result the artwork appears much more faded than it actually is - the finish has the same appearance as that found on the CD cover which is visible much more clearly below.
There are two inserts, one insert consists of a magical short tale by Geoff Cox-Dorée, and the other details the contents of the Art Edition and is hand-signed by Ossian Brown and Steven Thrower.
The Art Edition also comes with a CD which features a track which is exclusive to this release. Called Augural Sun, it is a 13+ minute track which is a radical interpretation of the title track of the LP. It's a very strong - and dark - track which mirrors the main LP perfectly, and is very much a companion piece rather than an addition. The CD features a sleeve which again has artwork applied to it as in the manner noted above, and is also signed on reverse.
As an extra item I am also including the new Cyclobe 7" The Eclipser c/w The Moths of Pre Sleep. Released in an edition of 300 copies only on dotdotdot music, this is on clear-white vinyl featuring cover artwork by Alex Rose.
The Wounded Galaxies... vinyl is unplayed, and the CD and 7" are both in excellent, near-mint condition. The Art Edition sleeve and inserts are in immaculate condition.
Everything will be sent in the original mailer the Art Edition was delivered in complete with the stamped protective inner-envelope for the CD, which in turn will be sent in a larger-still mailer to ensure that the contents will be very safely protected. Photos of full contents below.
