Rayne-Bo Ramblers/Fiddlers Three--Bluebird 2024
Original Cajun 78 RPM record, Bluebird B-2024, Rayne-Bo Ramblers [vocal by Happy Fats], Nouveau Grand Gueyan b/w Fiddlers Three, Les Trois Elviras. Recorded 10 September 1937. Note mis-spelling GUEYAN, which should be Gueydan [town in deep southwest Louisiana].
Record has been heavily played as is typical of most Cajun 78s from this period. Playing surface is dull, with numerous scuffs and scratches from use, and quite a bit of label wear [mainly on B side] as well, but no cracks or gouges. Has a small chip on lower edge of A side but is outside the start groove and does not interfere with playing. Has more than average background noise corresponding with the surface wear, but still plays well. Despite the wear, still a nice pre-war recording of Cajun Music and is in VG- condition.
