Condition

Record has a few light hairlines over the surface but these are just from the record going in and out of its inner sleeve. It’s a beautiful copy

Sound Clips of two tracks-these recordings are not filtered or changed-this is what THIS RECORD sounds like.

The sleeve is fully laminated. Still in strong condition with a small –quarter inch-nick on the front opening (this is near the phallic shaped balloon!). There is slight fading along with a similar feel regarding storage i.e. a little creasing around the opening along with slight storage wear-more noticeable on the back cover than anywhere else.  

But overall this a beautiful copy of a wonderful LP

Melodisc has again proved without a shadow of doubt that they know what their Calypso loving collectors want and have stopped at nothing on this 8-piece two-sided long playing record.

I make no apology for using a colloquialism when I say that Melodisc Records Ltd., the world's premier Calypso recording company, has "stolen a march" on her contemporaries by putting together and bringing out "CALYPSO CARNIVAL" on which considerable foresight, judgment and balance are in evidence.

"Big Toe" by Lord Kitchener in his usual inimitable style is on its first release. Here you have his Lordship politely chastising and warning little Dorothy the Romancing Dame ---- but does she take heed?

In this album you not only have Calypsos in different, colourful and contrasting styles from Trinidad's leading Calypsonians in the Lion's" COME PUNKSIE ", a constant favourite to George Browne, the Roving "troopador" singing "THE SINGLE MAN" an old Jewish melody --- to THE MIGHTY TERROR expressing in "CHINESE CHILDRED" a grave predicament with seriousness and feeling which is undoubtedly felt by many today.

 Perhaps it was at this stage Melodisc Records Ltd. decided to give " CALYPSO CARNIVAL "  a fuller Federal Caribbean flavour and leaving Trinidad to the South they proceeded North to Jamaica for haunting mentos by Tony Johnson and Eric Hayden --- the former giving his advice and opinion on the Smarter Sex. Leaving Jamaica they go to Haiti for the Calypso Merangue " STONE COLD MAN " by the CHARMER. This is the current craze in the Caribbean, North and South America. In this you will note the strong French influence, but unlike the French in "stone cold man" the blame is on the wife. Also included is the "Spicy" tune "Tomato "

Owing to the sellers ratings this has become very important. I can guarentee the dispatch time but I have NO control over delivery. Please understand this. It can take a few days after the dispatch time. I would have thought it was obvious but as many sellers know to their cost some people don't seem to understand the difference
