Campoli/London Symphony Orchestra - Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto In D Major - Decca SXL 2029 - stereo This is one of the "holy grails" for classical collectors. An original black & silver, unboxed, wide-band, stereo issue of a truly fabulous concerto. Those in the know are aware of just how rare this album is and of the very high prices paid for copies in the past. I am putting a reserve of just 50 GBP on this copy so there is a good chance of a real bargain for an astute collector. The album has been sat in a box, unloved, for the last 30 years and the disc, which has hardly been played, is still in beautiful shiny condition. The ravages of time however have got at the cover and the top has some lamination discolouration and the back of the cover has some ageing spots. These are not as a result of mis-handling, just the results of being sat in a record box for so many years. Check out the pictures to examine the extent of the wear.
