Description

Campus City Jazzmen Jazz On A Bootlace RARE ORIG 1972 SIGNED LP PRIVATE PRESS ? . On Boot Audioslim Records Inc DER 748 . A SIDE: 1 Intro / One O'Clock Jump 2  I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate 3 Give Me Your Telephone Number 4 The Swinging Shepherd Blues 5 I Wanna Be Like You 6 Higher Ground 7 Doctor Jazz 8 What A Day For A Daydream . B SIDE: 1 Running Wild 2 Blue Moon 3 Dorothy 4 Sweet Sue 5 Charleston 6 Ain't Misbehaving 7 Willie The Weeper 8 The Stripper . Featuring Max Woodhead - Clarinet , Alto Saxophone . Brian Witten - Trombone , Steve Dixon - Trumpet , Guitar , piano . Nick Fitton - Banjo , Kazoo . Dave Jackman - Bass , Harpsichord and Phil Roberts - Drums . I have been informed that this is a private pressing , but i can't confirm this . I am also pressuming it is from 1972 , as is the signed date and info on the rear of the cover , again this i can't confirm .
Cover: Non laminated card cover ( appears to be not mass produced etc ) , generally in good overall condition . There are some bumps in places where the glue of the main picture hasn't taken . There is also a small bit of the top left corner of the main picture only ( not the cover ) missing as seen in the photo's . There are some general browning spots here and there on both sides , again as seen in photo's . there is just some usual , general useage wear on the main edges and some small and light general dent and rub wear on the corners . There is some general wear on the opening edges , mainly in the way of very small dent marks and a few small and light general surface marks . The rear is generally as the front description , but no parts missing off the main stuck on picture . The rear is signed by Max and dated July 3rd 1972 . The record comes with a plain paper inner sleeve There are creases and browning ( mainly round the edges ) and a few light surface marks . I hope i haven't made this out to be worse than it is , as it is still a nice overall example for a possible private pressing of such age .
Record: Visually in very good overall condition , with just some light , usual general surface marks only ( no deep feelable scratches etc ) . It plays perfectly crisp and clear throughout with just some light static on the very quieter parts , this being mainly on the run ins / offs and track changeovers . This record really does play and sound great overall . The general audio tones are still awesome . There are no jumps etc when played on my deck and it still retains a nice overall shine . Both labels are generally in excellent overall condition , with just a few usual , light spindle marks only , both are still nice and clean . All in all a nice overall example of this now rare and highly collectable item , together with great overall sound . Turn this one up and enjoy !! . Thank you very much for your time and interest and happy bidding .
ALL RECORDS , DVD’s , VIDEOS + CD’s ARE PLAY TESTED FROM START TO FINISH ON BOTH SIDES .
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Postage prices shown are  for  the UK and Europe only . Please note that any bids that exceed £14.99p GBP ( inclusive ) , will be sent via 1st class recorded in the UK and International signed for if outside the UK . Please be aware that the extra cost for this WILL be added on to the base rates that are shown , thank you . Please can you wait for my invoice before paying , thank you . Please also note that I always obtain proper proof of postage when I post any items .
Please note that whilst I haven’t increased my postage charges for quite a while now , this , now second recent price increase within a year , has seen me , unfortunately , have to put a slight increase on my overall charges . This is also topped with the rise in cost for quality card mailers and stiffeners . I will mention that it now costs me between £3.42p and £3.50p ( depending on whether I buy 50 or 100 mailers with two stiffeners ) to post an LP in the UK 1st class with 2 stiffeners . Please also note that I now send ALL LP’s with a minimum of 3 stiffeners and all 7” singles with a minimum of 2 stiffeners . Believe it or not , these stiffeners are now 20p each for LP’s . A 7” single now costs me £1.49p to post 1st class with 2 stiffeners in the UK . As you can see , I am actually still making a loss on postage overall , but I do obviously want to still remain competitive and still offer  my usual top quality service . My apologies also to all my European friends , as there is now yet another steep increase on all postage outside of the UK , so again I am sorry for also having to increase my European postage prices .
Please note, all records and cd’s dvd’s and cassettes are tested from start to finish. Records are packed in proper card mailers with a minimum of 3 stiffeners for LP’s and 2 for 7” singles .  CD’s and DVD’s are sent in strong bubble wrap envelopes. These are also taped with brown parcel tape along all edges and seams for added protection. All are sent via RM 1st Class post or Airmail small packets .
Please note that I do not own a pro record cleaning machine , so whilst all my records are generally all clean and have a very nice shine , there obviously maybe some traces of dust particles from cleaning manually , thank you .
