Canned Heat is a blues-rock/boogie band that formed in Los Angeles in 1965. The group has been noted for its own interpretations of blues material as well as for efforts to promote the interest in this type of music and its original artists. It was launched by two blues enthusiasts, Alan Wilson (1943 – 1970) and Bob Hite (1943 – 1981), who took the name from Tommy Johnson’s 1928 Canned Heat Blues, a song about an alcoholic who has desperately turned to drinking Sterno, generically called “canned heat”.
John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1917 – June 21, 2001) was an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was born in Mississippi, the son of a sharecropper, and rose to prominence performing an electric guitar-style adaptation of Delta blues. Hooker often incorporated other elements, including talking blues and early North Mississippi Hill country blues. He developed his own driving-rhythm boogie style, distinct from the 1930s–1940s piano-derived boogie-woogie style. Some of his best known songs include "Boogie Chillen'" (1948), "Crawling King Snake" (1949), "Dimples" (1956), "Boom Boom" (1962), and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" (1966) – the first being the most popular race record of 1949.

I now I am slightly biased but this record is one for the dedicated, knowledgeable electric blues collectors, who know a classic record when they see it. This is a classic original LP and should be in any dedicated collection.
This is one of many vinyl LPs that I am slowly starting to sell on eBay. Please see my other listings.
The records have been owned by me since new and have been fully played less than 5 times and the vinyl is in mint condition. The outer sleeve shows light/normal wear, and the inner sleeves are in excellent condition and show little signs of aging.
The records was originally played on a Garrard 401 turntable with SME 3009 arm fitted with a Shure cartridge, and has not been played since.
If you are wondering why the records ware played less than 5 times, it was because I was buying 1 or 2 LPs a week at the time !!

This postal cost is for one LP, just over 750g when packed. Two LPs are usually just under 1kg, which come in at the same cost.
