Description
A most demanding set of violin music for the performers! Only a few top violinists dare to face the microphone with these fiendishly difficult works. I'll be happy with Accardo, Rabin, and Ricci recordings and this is by far the rarest of them, in any condition! Yes, it's mono but I challenge you to call it out in blind test! This set is not perfect, but it plays much better than looks. I'm attaching a sample audio clip with very basic D/A converter. If you have a dedicated mono cartridge, I'm sure it'll sound even better! First section is typical section w/ minimal light statics (about 50%), second section has light crackling (about 30%), and third section is the worst example of brief light clicks (affecting portions of #4, 17, 19, 24). Please listen for yourself to decide if you can live with that.
Record condition: EX/EX-/EX/EX- (shiny matrix w/ light rubbing marks & hairlines, play the video and see descriptions above)
Cover condition: EX+ (very nice and solid, w/ slight bottom edge wear), laminated front
Stampers: D1/D1/D1/D3 Scranton pressing ("⌂" stamped in the runouts)
Note: I'm a collector, not a dealer. The reason I'm selling is to downsize my collection. Every record I offer was hand-picked based on its merits on music, performance, and sonics (not necessarily in that order!). I will list recording credentials such as producer, engineer, venue, date, etc. as I believe as an educated buyer, these will offer crucial info for an unfamiliar record to make a buying judgement. Hope you'll find this useful!
