Description

I have been collecting records for decades and the time has come for some of them to find a new home. Most will be in excellent condition, some have been in my family for years and remain unplayed. I will grade them all fairly and listen to them before listing.

All of them will be professionally cleaned before being sent.

Up for auction here is a Uk first pressing of the 1972 album by Caravan entitled Waterloo Lily. Released in the Uk on Deram Records catalogue number SDL 8. This is a first pressing on the Brown Deram labels . It is in very nice condition throughout and a really good example of this brilliant lp.


Matrix / Runout (A Side): ZAL-11258.P-3W and ZAL-11259.P-3W. Both sides have 1 mother stampers.


The vinyl is visually in Very Good + condition and has been very well looked after. There are a couple of superficial marks visible under light but really this is a strong example. The audio is also very good and plays through superbly without any skips or jumps. There is some background crackle but overall it was a really nice listen and I would grade the audio as Very Good+.


The Brown Deram Labels are in awesome condition with some light spindle marks. I would grade them as Excellent.


The Original gatefold sleeve has some light signs of wear but is still a very nice example. I would grade it as Very Good +. The title, band name and catalogue number are still visible on the spine.


The record comes with its original inner sleeve.


Overall a very nice copy of this classic Caravan lp.

I use Record Collector ratings to grade my vinyl. These are :

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.


Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.


Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.


Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc..


Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.


Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
