Carl Perkins - Dance Album Of Carl Perkins (Debut LP)
(Laondon HA-S 2202 UK Mono LP 1959)
This is an early 1960's UK Mono LP pressing. This is a rare UK Rockabilly LP release. The sleeve is okay. However, the vinyl is quite heavily played. However, playback is very reasonable. (There is a thorough description below).
This LP has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve. The sleeve has an extremely thin spine. The spine text is printed on the rear sleeve - next to the spine. There is a printing date printed just above the bottom flipback on the rear sleeve (McN.1.63). This means that this sleeve was printed in the UK in January 1963. It comes with its original generic polythene lined company paper inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has plum "London" labels which have silver text. The labels are deep grooved also. The record has AYL-1146-1B and AYL-1147-1B matrix numbers.
This is a genuine early 1960's UK pressing of this rare late 1950;s Rockabilly/ Rock 'n' Roll LP. Early UK pressings are extremely difficult to locate. I have some other rare & collectable UK original 1960's & 1970's Folk, Prog, Psych, Rock etc... LP's for sale. Please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is some mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is very mild fading to the rear sleeve. There are a fair few light, very mild or very minor fingertip marks on the rear sleeve too. In the main, these are very feint. There is light, mild or more moderate hairline rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. There are no seam splits anywhere on the sleeve. Overall, Very Good condition. These late 50's, early 60's UK London sleeves are extremely prone to wear. This is a very reasonable copy.
Vinyl: There are about 16 light, mild or more moderate hairline surface marks, or surface marks, on Side 1. These measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. All of these are surface marks. And none feel to the touch. There are about 12 light, mild or very mild hairline surface marks, or surface marks, on Side 2. These measure from 1 cm to 8 cm in length. All of these are surface marks. And none feel to the touch.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild or very mild surface sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. The original inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild, very mild or very minor dull surface marks. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Fair+ condition. The labels are in Very Good+ condition & show more moderate spindle wear.
The original polythene-lined company paper inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or more moderate ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are a very few light or very minor intermittent clicks at the start of "Matchbox" on Side 2. These are very much in the background. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
