This 12” diameter, 33 1/3 rpm, long-playing vinyl record, his first LP release, is called “Dance Album of Carl Perkins”, Sun #1225 ©1957, mono.
The front of the jacket has bright coloration and shine. The back shows average discoloration from age and about half the song titles have an “x” next to them indicating the original owner’s favorites (I acquired this LP from him two years ago). The top seam and spine appear to have been completely split and have been neatly repaired with clear tape prior to my purchase. One last thing about the cover. It was signed by Carl and dated ’97. Included with your purchase is a pair of ticket stubs from the July casino appearance where the signature was attained.
The record’s playing surfaces shine with little-played gloss but have a smattering of light - medium scratches. I’m now listening to side two and can tell you the sound is wonderful! I hear some background noise at lead-in and between cuts but virtually none during the tracks. Surely a testament to the care (and heavy vinyl) used back in the day. I can hear an occasional tick and click but no pops or skips. I guarantee you will enjoy listening to this LP and that it is an original pressing. Matrix numbers on side one are SU-121 (delta) 250 and, on side two, SU-122 (delta) 251. Its labels are clean.
