Description
Carlos Gardel sings two songs in French, "Deja" (a waltz) and "Folie" (a cancion), on Aregentine Odeon 18853. He is accompanied by an orchestra under the direction of Gregor Kélékian, but is it the Gregoriens?
According to Lord, it's an all-star jazz band: Philippe Brun, Gaston Lapeyronnie (tp); Guy Paquinet, Leo Vauchant (tb); Roger Fisbach (as); Sylvio Schmidt (vln); Stephane Grappelli, Stephane Mougin (p). Recorded in Buenos Aires on September 21, 1931. But I doubt it, because Brun was with Jack Hylton and these guys don't make a jazzy peep.
This record is in E condition, except for a tiny dig on the "Deja" side that clicks softly about 5 times and passes. The sleeve has a few small seam splits on one side and a 1/4" missing piece (see last photo, lower right-hand corner), but is otherwise in good condition.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
