Description
Carlton And His Shoes – ‘Love Is All’ / Delroy Wilson ‘I’ll Change My Style’ – Coxsone (JA)
Re-listing this, due to a time-waster. A Buy It Now! option is offered, at around twenty-five percent less than highest final (true) bid a couple of weeks ago. A chance to get a truly magnificent record at a good price, I dare say!
Beautiful early reggae side (1969) by Carlton Manning and his Shoes, wrongly credited to Tony Gregory (all copies are) on this original Studio One release from the mid-1970s. One of the finest songs on the legendary Love Me Forever album, and nice to have on a 45. Flip is a Delroy Wilson doo wop ballad, recorded in 1960, but allegedly not released until 1968; an achingly beautiful early recording. Condition: VG++ to Excellent. Typical mid-seventies pressing, probably about as good as these get. Please listen to sound clip (I forgot to digitise the Delroy Wilson side). Labels are clean (please see scans).
Please note that the slight hum on this clip comes from my record player’s shaky Earth connection, it is not inherent in the disc.
Please reply within three days after auction close. Payment via Paypal expected within seven days. Will not be held responsible for uninsured shipping.
Shipping 1-2 singles is US $6.50 within Europe, US $8.00 to the rest of the world. Registered and insured shipping is an additional US $13.00. Please contact me for further combined shipping rates.
Please note that like many other sellers of reggae on eBay, I’ve been the victim of so called ‘fake bidders’, bad minded people who have no intention of purchasing the items they bid on and whose only intention is to ruin the auction. If your feedback is zero, please get in touch with me before bidding, or I will have to remove your bid and offer the record to second highest bidder. Obviously, the second highest bid will have been raised artificially by the ‘fake bidder’. I will try to lower the selling price to just one increment above the third highest bid by way of offering a discount or free shipping (or both). Here’s hoping this auction will be free from any such problems!
Happy to answer any questions. Please see my other reggae auctions with many rare items this week.
Thanks for looking and good luck!
