Description
Caroline Peyton - her solo work and her work with the Screaming Gypsy Bandits personifies the energy surge of the late 60's/early 70's in the Midwest. This is Caroline's side, but the interweaving of players on this side and the Screaming Gypsy Bandits, well, they were closely aligned both personally and professionaly.
Based in the Bloomington/Indianapolis area, they were the coolest of the cool, the lead dogs of the pack. They were the top adventuresome local rock band, stretching the boundaries when nobody wanted to recognize boundaries anyway. When the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, the Doors and others were passing through Bloomington at Indiana University, one of the coolest college campuses in the nation at the time, it was a given that Caroline, Mark Bingham, Mark Gray and other folks in that group of people would find their way on stage, either as the opening act or just hanging, making their presence known.
Now, thirty plus years or so later, it's a little difficult to communicate what it all meant then, just how it was. Suffice it to say this side pretty much defines the feeling of the time.
This side is hard to find in any condition - this one is near mint. Original shrinkwrap, no corner or edge wear, just the lightest marks showing it has been on my shelf for all this time. The record is also near perfect, no scratches, no scuffs, no spindle wear, no spindle scratches. Unless someone has a sealed copy somewhere (and I'm sure they must exist!), you will never find this side in this condition. Seriously, grab it while you can!

As most of my selling has been in the jazz realm, you may not know me. Please check my feedback to learn more about my integrity as a seller. I am not a pro dealer - every item I list comes from my own personal collection. Another note, I am also listing a copy of the Screaming Gypsy Bandits 'In The Eye' - if you like Caroline, please check for that auction.
