Description
Here is one very difficult to source LP, Carrl & Janie Myriad,'Of All The Wounded People' on SPIN records,recorded in 1971,and produced by Gus McNeil who was also the producer of what is in my opinion, one of the finest Australian recordings of the era, 'Syrius'.
This record has some issues,in that one track 'Back to the wild woods again' has sustained some damage for five or six revolutions - looks to be a cartridge failure related event which now causes deterioration in reproduction for a few moments,but it still plays through with one small skip and a few seconds of mild hiss.The next track also has medium clicks for 40 revolutions caused by a scratch.Yes,I know this is somewhat of a tragedy,but the remainder of the recording plays very well with some occasional light background noise and the odd click,almost all between tracks.
Musicians are Duncan McGuire,Mark Kennedy,Peter Martin,Jim Conway,John Capek,along with Carrl & Janie.Deemed ( not by me ) to be 'Acid Folk Rock' by genre.
LP Cover is in great shape with the only flaw being a few pin size dots on the opening edge of the front - no ringwear or creases,and the spine is intact and legible - amazing really,as the cover is not laminated.
The labels are nice with just a few faint spindle lines.
This LP is still very listenable,and there is no evidence of it being played with a worn stylus - sound reproduction is clear and bright,BUT, the aforementioned flaws must be considered and/or tolerated. SPIN SEL-934477 ( 1971)
