Officially released
Cartola was a singer and composer from Rio de Janeiro, born in the neighborhood of Catete. For the rest of his life he was linked to Mangueira, the samba school he helped found in 1928, taking part in the choice of its name and famous colors.
The album 'Verde que te Quero rosa', from 1977, has one of the most emblematic covers of Brazilian discography. Clicked by the sensitive eye of the photographer, Ivan Klingen, who noticed the colors of the school of the heart in the objects quoted from the house of Cartola and his wife Dona Zica.
The list of partner composers and participations is precious. Nelson Cavaquinho, Dalmo Castelo, Nuno Veloso, Carlos Cachaça and Geraldo Pereira are some of them. And in the team of musicians we find names like Wilson das Neves, Jorginho do Pandeiro and Marçal. The production is signed by Sérgio Cabral.
This neat reissue of Três Selos has a double cover, exclusive poster, opening text signed by radio broadcaster Patricia Palumbo added to the content produced by the house's owners, Lorena Calábria and Ramiro Zwetsch.
