From my own collection that I'm down-sizing . . .
This is the fourth LP by Cast that I bought on release in 2001 and it's been with me ever since.
The sleeve has a small amount of shelf wear at the edges but nothing serious (see pictures).
The vinyl looks shiny and new with no scratches, I can just see one light surface rubbing. I can't remember playing it more than a handful of times so I've had a quick listen to some sections on a Pro-ject deck to check it. There is some vinyl crackle that is noticeable during the lead-ins on both sides and occasionally between tracks. However it's not a quiet album so that's probably why I didn't really notice at the time, plus in those days vinyl pressings weren't great anyway.
Talking of which, at the start of Side B there's a slight double thump that you hear for a few seconds on each rotation and looking at the vinyl I can see there are a couple of little dints in the vinyl that are in the pressing so that'll be why. The final picture shows one of them (you'll see it better if you don't zoom in too much). I've had a close look and the pressing also contains a couple of other dints but they're not audible as they come in the middle of tracks.
So it's a typical vinyl pressing from twenty years ago. If you want audio quality on the vinyl for this album then I suggest you pick up a re-issue copy. However if you want an original that's in good condition and plays well but comes with the original pressing blemishes, this is for you!
