Cecil Payne ' Patterns of jazz ' SAVOY MG 12147 (USA) red label with deep groove - rec. on May 19 & 22, 1956 and originally issued as Signal S 1203 on 1957 - this is the 1959 Savoy issue - on trail-off (dead wax) has the 'RVG' for Rudy Van Gelder - title on the label says 'The depths of jazz' Cecil Payne : baritone sax - Kenny Dorham : trumpet (side B only) - Duke Jordan - Tommy Potter : bass - Arthur Taylor : drums Side A : This time the dream's on me - How deep is the ocean - Chessman's delight - Arnetta Side B : Saucer eyes - Man of moods - Bringing up father - Groovin' high Visual grading : record is EX full lustre has very light wear. Clean labels with very light spindle wear Playing grading : record is EX to EX+ plays very well with loud and clear sound. Has few very light occasional ticks Cover grading : cover is VG- has wear to corners, edges and to spine which has been repaired for two splits. Top and bottom edges have transparent tape. Laminated front cover is clean. Back cover has light age yellowing and has a name written on top left cornerI am selling here records from my own private collection. I have not a store or a website.
