Top 40 pop at it's best. Minnesota's very own Chameleon. The band that eventually launched Yanni into the world of New Age music. The songs are tightly woven and well written. Though they didn't have a national top 40 hit, they had a large following in the five neighboring states. Especially Iowa. They used to pack 2,000 people into the Gibbon Ballroom in the early 80's. Good times. These guys used to rock the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. Fantastic shows!

I saw these guys in person in 1982 and again in 1983. I was an aspiring bass guitar player then and absolutly floored by the show they brought to our little town of 800 people. I talked with all the guys at length and they were all pretty friendly. I talked mostly to Yanni who was playing Keyboards as a member of the band. He seemed very knowledgable about the technical questions I was asking. After talking with the guys, I bought both their first LP 'Chameleon' and their 2nd LP 'Techno-Color'. They weren't what I was into at the time but they helped me try to keep an open mind about music in general. I was blown away by Charlie's revolving drum cage. It was quite a spectacle! The next time I saw them, it was at our high school homecoming. When I heard thet they were playing there, I was puzzled, you high school kids really want an original band for your dance? Well, they were disappointed, but I wasn't. They played a great show. Techno-Color is a more rock oriented than the first LP. You should check out their my space page. It's quite good.

I still listen to these lps and hope that someday they will be released in CD format. The 3rd LP 'Balance' and 4th LP 'Hologram Sky' (released on cassette only) are seemingly hard to find.

This LP is the original 1981 Platinum Records release and is in VG+ condition. It still has the original inner sleeve and a fold out lyric sheet with the merchadise sheet attached.
