"Chant of the Jungle" & "I'm Following You" Sung By The South Sea Serenaders - 78 RPM Supertone
You are bidding on a 78 RPM record with two songs by the South Seas Serenaders.
Side A is "Chant of the Jungle", from the 1929 MGM picture "Untamed" starring Joan Crawford and Robert Montgomery. Side B is "I'm Following You", from the movie "It's a Great Life" featuring the Duncan Sisters. Both songs feature Hawaiian guitars.
This 78 RPM record is on the Supertone Label Catalogue # 9687.
I am NOT A PROFESSIONAL GRADER. Please look at the pictures. Both sides have one mark or light scratch. I rate them as VG+.
The inlay's black and gold coloring is still sharp with no rubs or fading. I rate this as EX.
The paper sleeve is an ORGINAL Supertone (not a plain generic one). It is in G condition with great graphics and no rips or tears along the sides or bottom. There is a 2 inch tear at inlay hole and wear and a small tear at the top. There is an impression of the record, which is normal for sleeves of this age (80+ Years) The sleeve notes "Supertone Super Electrically Recorded", along with side bars of songs, artists and catalogue numbers. The other side has sidebars which notes "Play At Proper Play Speed", "Needle Information" and in the caption is written "Sears Roebuck and CO. The World's Largest Store".
This record would make a wonderful gift for the person who likes tropical music or movie soundtracks.
