i once had a bunch of manson stuff but threw most of it away. this is what survived the purge for reasons i know not. but now, as i get ancient in years, i think i better heave-ho these items before my child stumbles upon them one odd bleak day and can only say to herself, dad, wtf?
here's what the lucky ducky winner gets!
-- a copy of the lost vacaville tapes album, never been played, in a protective sleeve. i see that the two halves of the album cover have lost their stickiness, no biggie, but i thought i'd point it out.
-- two ATWA booklets, one featuring the best-of charlie's wit and wisdom, 12 pages long, the other, a transcript of a charlie phone call telling some of his history and his philosophies, also 12 pages.
-- a letter from charlie's last girlfriend, star, explaining what she meant -- and didn't mean -- after we'd spoken a bit way back when about the murders and who didn't deserve to die but maybe brought it on themselves.
-- an inconsequential note from the well-known charlie booster known as greywolf. didn't take a pic of it, it's that inconsequential.
-- a big booklet of charlie photos, size 12" x 12", about 22 pages, nice heavy card stock paper, and whatnot put together by a longtime charlie confidant named ben gurecki -- who is a pretty damn decent guy, btw. it's really quite stunning how immediate most of the photos look. like, they jump right out at you. boo!
-- a letter of authenticity, of some kind, from Ben with a bit of charlie underwear attached to it, the underwear itself can be seen in one of the pictures. also, a similar letter from ben, not pictured.
-- i think that's it. anything else i find, you'll get it. btw / everything is in perfect condition, just like yesterday was today, etc.
i dunno. maybe i should just throw this wee collection into the trash and be done with it. at the same time, i'm curious to see if the auction will even get any bids. yin/yang. and so it goes, in the hallway of always.
