Description
Noted organist and composer Charles Marie Widor in 4 sides from his 9th Organ Symphony. Well known for the Toaccata form his 5th symphony, these sides are equally impressive and the sound of the St Sulpice organ is absolutely superb! Symposium 1010-11, recorded 1932.
This issue was one of a series of collector issues from about 20-30 years ago, pressed from the original HMV/EMI master metals. Mint condition - test-played once at the time of issue, probably played no more than once or twice since, if at all and only played on modern lightweight SME 3009 arm with a Shure / Expert Pickups correctly sized diamond stylus in good, checked condition. Stored upright on shelf with other 78s (under enough sideways pressure to keep vertical and unwarped but not sufficient to cause damage) in a centrally heated pet- and smoke-free home. Some dust but no marks, nicks, scratches etc.
