Description
Up for sale is my copy of Charles Mingus' Blues & Roots. This is a stereo first pressing from 1960. I have graded the vinyl conservatively as VG. Side 1 looks almost flawless, but one scratch on side 2 brought this grade down (see last photo). It is not super deep but you can feel it. Lots of gloss though. I visually grade all of my records as I do not currently have the means to play grade them. The sleeve is beautiful, the cover is so glossy I had a hard time getting a good photo without glare. The back has some faint writing at the top (see photos).
Mingus is one of the all-time greats and this album is a must have for any serious jazz collector. Don't take my word for it: DownBeat (1960) - 4 Stars - Very Good - "...vital and important music...[Mingus] is outstanding in his solo work...this is something worth careful and thorough listening..."
