Description
This album was purchased from Dobell`s basement used record dept. in the early 60s. It has been frequently played, but is in good condition, without scuffs or scratches and plays perfectly, with minimal surface noise. For several years, I assumed the stylus jumped during Things Ain`t What...... but eventually learned it is probably a very crude edit. Ref. sleeve notes to the album "Nostalgia in Times Square". The unedited version plays for 7m 37s this version for 4.23. The outer sleeve is sound, without tears or creases, but clear tape along three edges has resulted in staining. On the front there are quite a few very small areas where colour has been lost. The spine is rubbed and 3 letters of the title are lost.

This is my favourite Mingus record, but if you prefer a small band, the Candid LP Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus comes a very close second.
