- Label & Cat #: 1979 Columbia ?– JG 35717 Stereo "Contemporary Masters Series"
- Vinyl Grade: Excellent (EX) play graded *both records play excellent with vinyl displaying a few light sleeve scuffs; there is one small spindle mark on "GG Train" that produced some lo-grade background ticking at end of track
- Cover Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+) *gatefold with timing strip has limited wear - light ring wear, bend creases lower rh front, indent blem on opening edge of back panel; gold demo stamp top lh back
- Notes: Album consists of restored solos that were edited out of the two albums Mingus Ah Um and Mingus Dynasty, and includes some newly issued material from those dates.. Such Mingus veterans as John Handy, Booker Ervin, and Jimmy Knepper are well-featured along with Don Ellis and Roland Hanna. (AllMusic)
