Description
Charles Mingus East Coasting mono Bethlehem BCP 6019 maroon and silver deep groove
Charles Mingus (b), Shafi Hadi aka Curtis Porter (as, ts), Clarence Shaw (t), Jimmy Knepper (tb), Bill Evans (p), Dannie Richmond (d) Recorded 1957
The record looks and plays VG++. Side 1 has some light scuffing, not into the grooves but no scratches. Side plays nicely and quietly with slight surface noise well below the level of the music but audible during the quiet parts. Side 2 has a light scuff across the side which does not affect play. Side plays with light surface noise of the occasional light tick type that is audible during quiet parts. Spindle marks on both labels. Grooves do not show wear or damage and do not look heavily played.
BELOW ARE SOUND CLIPS OF THE ACTUAL RECORD BEING AUCTIONED. THREE FROM EACH SIDE--BEGINNING, MIDDLE AND END.
The cover is VG. The front cover looks good and is still shiny with light to moderate wear. The back cover has moderate wear and fading. Top seam is split app 3 inches at the pocket and is not taped. Bottom seam is split about 1 inch with heavy wear at the pocket. Spots of wear at the corners of the spine and denting. Spine is intact.
Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on record.
I WILL NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY. PLEASE DO NOT ASK.
My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
