Charlie Feathers - Get With it : The Essential Recordings 1954-69 3xLP 6006 (Revenant, USA, 2005)
3 LP Set on clear vinyl with booklet.
Charlie Feathers was more than just a flash-in-the pan rockabilly icon, he was like Elvis or Charlie Rich, but he seemed to be born further away from the tracks. He wasn't exactly the pioneer he liked to make out he was, but a supreme stylist, who put his hand to many styles, and did it convincingly well - whether it was traditional hillbilly, hiccupin' rockabilly, rural blues or middle of the road country. The only thing he couldn't do was actually find widespread success. This fantastic 3 LP set sums up his recorded legacy very well, including all his famous sides for Sun, Meteor and King - and a bunch of acetates, outtakes and demos.
Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)
Sleeve - (CONDITION) VG+ - Outer sleeve still in shrink, with sticker attached. A bit of wear to the sleeve opening (it's not the most sturdy packages. Faint handling marks on the inner sleeves. No serious issues!
Record - (CONDITION) EX Records have no noticeable issues - visually or through play. They still look and play as new. Could do with a dust. Sound quality is for the most part great, though a few numbers were taken from lower quality sources such as acetates and home recordings, so bear in mind when listening.
Who Wants This? This is a great collection, that looks really beautiful, has great liner notes and handily collects together virtually all the recordings of Feathers you would want. It's also out of print, and probably for good. Essential for a fan!

- I love records, too! I package all records in proper mailers with stiffeners. Books are packaged in cardboard.
- I PLAY GRADE virtually all of my items, as well as looking visually. Always read the description. It will normally tell you what you need to know.
- I remove records from their outer sleeves to avoid splitting. All records are packed in a plastic sleeve for extra protection.
