Description
Original, orange and yellow label with black text with "DIAL" in white at the top of the label. Recorded in NY in 1947 with Parker on all 8 tracks. According to some discographies Miles Davis, trumpet; Duke Jordan, piano; Tommy Potter, bass; Max Roach, drums. J.J. Johnson is added for 3 or the 8 tracks. Includes 2 takes of "Bird Feathers" with the quintet. There seems to be an unidentified guitar on the track "Bongobeep". Very rare edition.
Cover: VG++ 3/4" split on the top edge athe spine with a 1/2" split on the spine adjoining the top edge. No notes on the back cover. Name of previous owner is written in small script on the very top margin of the back cover. Light aging on the front cover. Some moderate edge wear. Overall fine condition.
Record: VG Visually shows no wear. 3 rub marks on 1 side and 4 or 5 on the reverse side. These are very light and most likely do not affect the sound. The record appears to have been played only a few times and handled with care. In spite of the clean appearance there is some irregular goove noise throughout. Also, some clicks and crackles that also occur irregularly. From the clean appearance of the record surface, this noise would seem to be in the pressing. Audibly checked.
