Description

Savoy MG-9000, “Charlie Parker Vol. I”.  This is the original DG red-label pressing.  The vinyl shows numerous small marks but no large scratches. It plays at about VG or a bit better with definite static in the background, though it does not overpower the music. The jacket has heavy seam chipping on the lower seam and spine; it may have been repaired from the inside.  The upper seam shows little wear.  The jacket front and back show strong age toning, though the jacket is fairly clean.  Numbers are “Now’s the Time”, “Donna Lee”, “Chasing the Bird”, “Red Cross”, “Ko Ko”, “Warming Up a Riff”, “Half Nelson”, and “Sippin’ at Bells”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire.  Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra.  Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way.  This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides.  It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket.  More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.  All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
