Description

This listing is for the ultra-rare, first pressing 1960 vinyl LP, Lonely Weekends with Charlie Rich, released on the short-lived Phillips International Records label(PLP-1970). This is Charlie Rich's debut album. Phillips International Records was a sub-label of the legendary Sun Records, started by Sam Phillips in October of 1957. Phillips International Records was discontinued in 1963 after Phillips Records complained about the similar name and this very rare album was withdrawn relatively soon after it's release.
The record is in VG+ condition. I didn't post photos of the vinyl itself because I couldn't get it to photograph well, but it shows some extremely MINOR signs of wear, with some slight marks/scuffs, but it does not affect the listening experience and visually, it looks fantastic. It has no warps. I played both sides all the way through and the sound was really nice. The original owner wrote the date of purchase on each label, 5-30-67.
The cover is in VG condition due to a manufacturing cut-out hole in the upper left corner, very slight peeling on the bottom left front edge and slight peeling & wear on the front edge side of cover where the record slips in(see photos). Two corners(right side) of the front cover are slightly turned up. Back of cover has some visible discoloration due to aging, slight wear along the opening edge where record slips in. The year of the record's manufacture, 1960, is written next to the "Lonely Weekends" track listing. The plain paper inner sleeve is original and has 2 creases and discoloration due to age, but no split seams. These minor flaws do not take away from how nice this LP looks. It is a thick, cardboard laminate cover and the front still has a nice, gloss look to it. It is structurally sound with no split seams anywhere and the front photo looks virtually flawless with no chips/marks anywhere on the cardboard.
