Description

"Charlie's tenor is aggressive, without the usual strident tone to which listeners have become inured. His sense of swing is uncomplicated, and there is an easy riding quality to his playing. He is urgent and powerful. Many times he seems to be "floating" on top of his rhythm section." This is a great sounding mono deep groove original 1st pressing of this all-time classic jazz lp. It is stamped 1B/1A. It has a sticker on side one and on the back cover which reads "For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale." The record has all of it's original shine. There are a few marks that are not deep and do not effect play. There is one mark right at the end of side one which does cause a few light clicks as the record enters the runout. This record has been cleaned on a professional VPI record cleaner and played in it's entirety. There are no skips or loud pops, just a few low clicks. The background noise is not overbearing. Overall, a very worthy edition to any jazz collection! The cover is in great condition. No seam splits, very little shelf wear. there is some yellowing on one side of the rear jacket as seen in the picture. There is a little paper split on the spine of less than an inch that is not on any of the writing. Bid with confidence! 100% guaranteed to be in the condition described. It will be safely packaged and shipped within one day of payment. For overseas shipping I use USPS Express International with full insurance. This is expensive but it is the only way to insure a record for the full amount. Record VG+ 7 out of 10. Cover VG+ 8 out of 10.
