Description

This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop & R&B 45's on Chicago-based labels from the 1950's/early 60's. Several Chess, Checker, Vee-Jay and more. Many promos mixed in. Even a few from more obscure labels.

Release: Sonny Boy Williamson - Keep it to Yourself / The Key

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1956


Notes: Maroon label 1st pressing. Early single and one of Williamson's first on Checker. He was really one of the first to play in the electric Chicago-blues style as we know it today. Both tracks here are great harmonica-based numbers. 


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of tiny stray scuffs. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with no tearing/stickers. They do have some light scuffing and Key side has an odd gray "slash" mark. Still a nice copy overall.
