Description

This is part of a large auction featuring blues, R&B and doo-wop, all from Chicago-based labels. There is a lot of great stuff here from many Chicago artists including Little Walter, Muddy Waters and other forefathers of the genre with few bonus listings as well.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1954


Notes: Blue and silver label first pressing. Early single by Mabon who was one of Chess's most successful artists before Chuck Berry or Bo Diddley. This was the last of his hits though. Two r&b leaning blues songs with great sax work.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, Vinyl itself is in nice shape and super-clean with almost no wear at all, just a couple of very light marks. It plays well and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, hardly any background noise at all. Labels are nice, with no tears or stickers. They do have some light scuffing and a name written small on one side. Still a pretty nice copy overall. 


All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. Check back in a couple of weeks for another new genre auction: dance records from the 70's to the early 2000's.
