This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop & R&B 45's on Chicago-based labels from the 1950's/early 60's. Several Chess, Checker, Vee-Jay and more. Many promos mixed in. Even a few from more obscure labels.

Release: Howlin' Wolf - Spoonful / Howlin' For My Darling

Format: 45 rpm 7" single

Year: 1960

Notes: Blue label first pressing. Two tracks later released on Wolf's stellar "Rocking Chair" album. Note the label variation, this one has the thicker/stylized font. Both tracks are great electric blues rockers.  Interesting note that the B-side title is "Darling". While the album uses the word "Baby" in the title instead.

Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of micro-scuffs on A-side. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with no marks/tearing/stickers. Just the slightest bit of scuffing. This is a nice copy overall.
