Description
This is part of a large auction featuring blues, R&B and doo-wop, all from Chicago-based labels. There is a lot of great stuff here from many Chicago artists including Little Walter, Muddy Waters and other forefathers of the genre with few bonus listings as well.
Here's the info on this item:
Release: Howlin' Wolf - Down in the Bottom / Little Baby
Format: 45 rpm 7" single
Year: 1961
Notes: Multi color "arrow" label variant, but NOT a promo. Chess moved to the yellow/black labels around April 1961. I believe they had the blue labels printed up for this record and used them on most of the first pressings. This colored label is definitely harder to find. Both of the tracks have that great guitar sound with Wolf's trademark gravelly vocals.
Vinyl Condition: VG+, Vinyl itself is in nice shape and super-clean with almost no wear at all, just a couple of very light scuffs. It plays well and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, hardly any background noise at all. Labels are very nice, with no tears or stickers. This is a really nice copy overall.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. Check back in a couple of weeks for another new genre auction: dance records from the 70's to the early 2000's.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item. If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
