Description
Mega rare UK test pressing of Chet Atkins 1967 Lp, 'Its A Guitar World' (SF-7882) as released through the RCA Victor label. This test pressing came out of the collection of a record executive for RCA in the UK. What is even more extraordinary is that it is in Stereo rather than the more commonly found Mono. It was Atkins' 31st studio album and is an interesting mixture of Country and World music.
Often, test pressings are found incomplete; that is, we may come across a Side 1 example but not the Side 2 ....or vice versa. In this case, we have BOTH sides....they are one-sided pressings (the other side is essentially, dead wax) deep-grooved and as can be expected, the audio is absolutely stunning. Master Tape caliber. I can only presume that there are less than a handful of these test pressings for this album remaining in the world.....and in this condition, probably even fewer...or none at all.
Record 1 & Record 2: Near Mint.....almost beyond belief....one can almost make a case that both these thick and heavy weight records look UNPLAYED! From the first song to the last, the audio is flawless....detailed, balanced, with that rare 'In the room" presence with every note. If you're properly set up with a decent turntable and a well calibrated cartridge/stylus....you will be delighted.
