Chet Baker Sextet ' Chet is back! ' RCA VICTOR PML 10307 ( IT ) original issue with Deep Groove rec.in Rome January 5, 1962 when Chet was set free from Italian prison. Issued in May 1962 in 1000 copies. Record in fine condition has original inner sleeve with text from one side and photos in the other Chet Baker : trumpet - Bobby Jaspar : tenor sax, flute - René Thomas : guitar - Amedeo Tommasi : piano - Benoit Quersin : bass - Daniel Humair : drums Side 1 : Well you needn't (Monk) - These foolish things (Strakey-Linch) - Barbados (C.Parker) - Star eyes (Raye-De Paul) Side 2 : Over the rainbow (Arlen) - Pent up house (Rollins) - Ballata in forma di blues (Tommasi) - Blues in the closet (Pettiford) Visual grade : record is graded between VG+ and EX because has general mild use's signs and a couple of hairlines on both sides plus has a light well visible scuff on track 4 of side 1. Audio Grade : record is VG / VG +. On side 1 plays with an almost continual light crackling more audible on tracks 2 and 4 in quiter passages, however well below the music's level. On track 4 also a short light rustle caused by a scuff. On side 2 has the same crackling as on side 1, more audible on tracks 1 and 3 and in a quiter passages. The record is without skip, toc or scratch. The sound is strong and loud even if with continual low crackling. A good agreable copy. Labels grade : Labels are clean without tears, writings or sticker. Many spindle marks more evident on side 2 Cover Grade : Cover is EX+ with only light bumps on corners. Spine and edges are EX++. The original inner sleeve is EX++.
