General Notice:
I am a private collector and not a dealer. Any items I offer for bid on eBay are from
my own pile of "stuff" that has accumulated over the past half century or more. You
know, I'm sure, how "stuff" expands to fill the available space. So please excuse me
for not having a big fancy ad here and instead just tell you how it is.
I promise to be as honest as possible in describing the condition of any item put up for bid.
No defect is too small to mention. Thank you for looking.
The item being offered for bid is a 4 LP record album:
Mosaic MR4-122 - "THE COMPLETE PACIFIC JAZZ STUDIO RECORDINGS OF
THE CHET BAKER QUARTET WITH RUSS FREEMAN"
This album is SOLD OUT and no longer available.
This copy is Serial Number 6943 of 7500.
Issued in 1987. This copy was purchased by me direct from Mosaic some time later.
Mosaic call their LPs "Q-LPs" and are audiofile quality.
The picture is from the actual album cover scanned on my A3 size scanner.
Condition:
Box: Perfect except for a skinny approx. 3/8" long white mark on the bottom lip of the lid.
(Where it sits on the shelf.)
Booklet: Perfect. Serial Number hand written inside the jacket cover as is the
practice of Mosaic in all their limited edition albums. Contains interesting
information about each recording session with photos as well as a detailed
discography.
Records: NM/M - Side 1, part of side 2 and part of one other side (I can't remember
which) have been played once. The remainder of the album has never
been played. Why not? A reasonable question. I purchased this album
because I wanted to check out Chet Baker's music and, at the same time,
check out Mosaic Q-LPs. Well, it turned out that the LPs were great but
I did NOT like Chet Baker's playing and singing. So I stopped playing,
packed it up and put it on the shelf until now.
***********************************************************************************************
In all fairness, I must tell you that I heard a single POP while playing side 1.
***********************************************************************************************
The other parts I played were fine. The playing I did do was with a Denon
turnable equiped with a Shure V-15 Type III cartridge.
Tracking force used was 1.25 grams.
So the result of all this is that this album is just about perfect. The unplayed sides
and parts of sides look clean but since they haven't been played I can't tell you anything
else about them.
I will ship the LPs in a "junker" album box in order to prevent the Mosaic box from
damage due to "LP bust-out" in the event of rough handling in shipment.
The recordings were made from 1953 through 1956 and are mono.
