Description
You are bidding on a rare, vintage LP record album, "The Chirping Crickets", on the Brunswick record label #BL 54038. The record features the legendary Buddy Holly and is the original issue with the black label. The front cover is also the original textured. The jacket is in good condition. The best part and reason it rates good is the facing of the front cover which is very nice. There is a minimal speck line by Holly's face, and some very light wear at the top and browning along the narrow, outer left hand white strip on the left edge. There is light wear up and down the right hand edge where the record slides in and some very light soiling along the middle to left hand side and left bottom corner and a very small spot to the left of the neck of the performer to the Holly's right. This has been a very critical description for the serious record collector. Overall the facing of the front cover is very nice with bright, vibrant colors. The reason this jacket rates not higher than good, is the edges. The bottom edge is completely split across. The top edge is split from the right to middle half way across. The left edge is not split but has extensive wear. The corners also have wear, the bottom right corner is pinched. The back cover has general, moderate soiling throughout of the white background, some ringwear, and a narrow strip of browning along the right edge. The disc is in good, if not very good condition. Side 1: The label is very good with only minimal spindle hole wear evidence. The vinyl has very light scratching throughout, seen when examined under light. There is a worse spot of scratching, but this is in the trail off vinyl mostly and ventures less into the song bands. Side 2: The label is excellent. The vinyl has light scratching throughout when examined under light. This has been a very thorough and critical description for the serious record collector. Again, this is a nice copy of an extremely rare LP to own to simply have one, until you can upgrade, (if that would be ever, that is!)
