Description
About This Record. This one of the rarest Chocolate Watchband LPs on the planet, and one of the best from a sonic play-grade standpoint. The rumored to exist but never seen original 1967 German stereo copy of The Chocolate Watch Band’s No Way Out LP on German Capitol Records! SMK 74 393! The 152 gram vinyl beats the heck out of the pathetic Tower Records releases that were issued in the USA. Only the Australian copy of Inner Mystique on Capitol Records (weird Turquoise label like the Gene Vincent LPs!) sounds as good as this!
Buy this or forever weep! Like me when I sell it. SERIOUSLY, these do not EVER turn up and they are the best sounding and totally authentic 1967 in mysterious exported form in higher quality vinyl than they ever gave us in the USA! I'm not sure why. Anyway, Very few people ever return my records, but I offer a full refund both ways even for you international buyers.
SEE MY FEEDBACK (including this dweeb's! feedback as a seller to me for a buyer months after I bought this LP from him, and months after I left him positive feedback)!
Anyway, have fun with this one! It was not a happy buying experience for me, but I can assure you this will be a happy buying experience for you.
Please note that I work for eBay and eBay company policy requires that I inform any potential bidders of this fact, and direct them through this link to the Code I have to abide by as an eBay employee: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/everyone-employee.html No, I don't work in the collectibles division or anything, I'm just a regular eBay employee like you and me who lives near San Jose and is a vinyl hound but is required to tell you this.
Vinyl Condition. Vinyl plays EX+ to Near Mint minus Awesome! No problems; very quiet between tracks, a few pops here and there. 152 grams of original 1967 stereo vinyl! The reissues pale in comparison. This is play tested on a $5,000 cartridge and even more expensive turntable. The vinyl looks maybe VG++ because of fingerprints which could come off with an alcohol based record cleaning solution, but I don’t like to do that when the sound is not degraded!
Label Condition. Writing on labels . . . so VG? Some spindle marks, but there are initials “G.C.” hand written in wide-ish marker on both labels; not so bad, but there and blatant when you hold the label at an angle. The very fragile laminated cover spine is in extraordinary condition. Amazing! The fragile top seam has a small ¾ inch split in top middle, and there is a small ¼ inch tear in the opening part of the cover middle right where the record goes in (see my photos please).
Cover Condition. Conservative Super Strong VG+ to EX- because of writing and only other minor flaws. Nice laminated cover but has “G.C.” initial on cover, and has “Gedula Camser” written on the forehead on the front cover above “keep the 18th amendment” not so bad, really. But for the initials, and minor seam damage, would be Near Mint! Tough to upgrade, really; ones without writing, should you ever be so lucky to find one, will have lots of seam splits and serious spine damage, let me assure you!
SEE MY PHOTOS I don't take them just for fun! It is painful when they come up on my automatic screen saver thingie after they sell . . . and I am reminded of them . . . and this one will be particularly painful. But I have to keep my collection in control, and cutting it off at North American versus other releases seems like a good idea.
About Me. I have been a Record Collector for over 35 years. With two kids in college, I often sell records so I can buy more vinyl or, in this case, pay the last college tuition bills of the year! 99% of what I sell is vinyl; read my Feedback! Common LPs are a waste of your time and mine! I bought this many years ago during my travels and have kept in well preserved. This comes in a new rice paper equivalent sleeve, and new 4 mil plastic sleeve.
Shipping and Payment. PayPal only. I ship promptly worldwide and do not overcharge for shipping . . . contact me if you paid more than the USPS postage sticker on your package and I’ll happily refund you the difference. I will ship by any method you want. But if you do not insure, the record will be shipped at your own risk. I offer full refund on this record including shipping both ways.
