CHRIS McGREGOR'S BROTHERHOOD OF BREATH
The Brotherhood of Breath was an exuberant big-band created by exiled South African born pianist/composer Chris McGregor which shared affinities with the '70s music of Don Cherry and Miles Davis.
Produced by Joe Boyd, this album was one of the most influential to emerge from the London jazz scene of the early 1970s. It fuses African music, jazz-rock, and free improvisation and utilized the finest cutting-edge British players of the time.
This 1971 UK 1st pressing on RCA's progressive NEON label (NE 2) is SIGNED inside the gatefold by the composer and SEVEN of this group's highly talented musicians:

- Mongezi Feza (d.1975) - trumpet
- Harry Miller (d.1983) - bass
- Louis Moholo - drums

Super-clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces which bear nothing more than a few light inner-sleeve removal marks beneath halogen light, but little else to suggest that the disc has been played more than just a couple of times.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
All tracks on this barely played disc sound clean & clear with just a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks and in some quite passages, but no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions or faults.
Cover: VERY GOOD +
This fully intact example bears moderate shelf/storage wear to its outer panels with a small fleck of missing paper in the upper left corner of the front panel. However, inside is perfectly clean & unworn with nice unhurried signatures in different inks. All seams unstressed & unsplit and the spine text is clean & readable.
