Description
Chrome Smoke & Fire, rockabilly/rock'n'roll compilation.
VG+ sounds awesome!
Beautiful artwork - deserves to be framed on a wall!
This is a collection of rock-a-billy, country, and old, 50's style rock 'n' roll, all dealing with cars and hot rodding as subject matter, and recorded between 1946 and `87.
Some notable inclusions are "Rocket 88" by The Saddlemen, Bill Haley's first outfit, and sited most often as the very first rock and roll song, from 1951. "Roadrunner", credited here to The Roadrunners, is actually by The Pyramids, and probably the best track on the comp.
Another notable appearance is made by Mr. Gasser and The Weirdos, arguably the best hot-rod band ever. Extensive liner notes inside the gatefold include a paragraph about each track used, as well as some neat antique hot-rod photos.
Included is a copy of a Rod & Custom article about the LP from Aug, 1991.
Free shipping to continental USA only.
