Description
Hi Everyone-
First off, I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas/Happy Chanukah/Happy Festivus.
This will be my last sale of the year. I’ve got some gems here, and I figured you’d want to spend the holiday money Aunt Edna and Uncle Lewis gave you. Hey, at least you didn’t get the jello mold this year, right?
All albums have been cleaned using my VPI record vacuum, so they’re squeaky clean. Please scroll down to see the info for the album pictured in this ad. Here’s what we’ve got…
The Who- Live At Leeds- DL 79175-
Jacket- VG+++. This jacket is super tough to find in nice condition. It’s like the White Album..there’s always ringwear, no matter what. As you can see, this copy is about as clean as it gets.
Vinyl- VG+++. This is just a hair below EX. So very very nice. If you don’t know, this album is considered to be the greatest live album ever, by anyone. And rightfully so. The Decca pressing kicks butt (the later MCA pressing is a very pale imitator). You’ve got the original crackle here too, because the band was so freaking loud. Powerful stuff.
Inserts- VG+++/EX. As you can see, they’re super clean.
The Beach Boys- Sunflower- RS 6382-
Jacket- VG+++. No writing or splits. Slight fraying on the top, little bit of age wear
Vinyl- VG+++. Light scuffing. This album is SO hard to find! The reason is because it totally bombed when it came out. Everyone still wanted to hear Surfin’ USA and they had moved on. Now, though, it’s considered one of their top 5 best. Dennis Wilson really comes into his own on this album, contributing the classic tune Forever. A few years ago, a vinyl reissue came out, and it is AWFUL. Just sonically terrible, very compressed sounding. This is the one to get.
Green Day- International Super Hits-
Jacket- EX
Vinyl- EX. They’re International! They’re Super! They’re Hits! All the Green Day songs you know and love (up until 2001) are here. This is a stellar German pressing too. Nice!
Chuck Berry- Chuck Berry Is On Top- LP 1435-
Jacket- The jacket grades at VG++. It’s exceptionally nice for any album, but especially for one this old.
Vinyl- VG++. Some scuffing here that causes light occasional crackle on my system. This is a first press in glorious super thick Chess vinyl....and ORIGINAL mono pressing! This album has the classics….Little Queenie, Roll Over Beethoven, Around and Around, Carol, Maybellene (love his guitar sound on that one…) and Johnny B. Goode. Most groups don’t have that many classics in their entire catalog…..all these songs are from the same album! This album is one of the foundations of rock n' roll. Not only is it great music, but it's a piece of history. If you’ve never heard an original Chess album in mono, the sound is everything you’ve read about.
I posted a copy a few weeks ago, and it went fast. Get yours now…
Tom Waits- Heartattack and Vine- 6E-295-
Jacket- VG+++. Very nice jacket. Upper corner is cut. And don’t worry, those stains are supposed to be there!
Vinyl- VG+++/EX. Super amazing clean copy of a Waits album from his classic period.
Eels- Wonderful, Glorious-
Jacket- EX
Vinyl- EX. First press limited edition on orange 10 inch vinyl.
