Description
Released by Tamla Motown in 1969, cat # STML 11117; this is “Goin’ Back To Chuck Jackson” by Chuck Jackson.
Each label has one or two small spindle marks. The side one label has a plain white shop label across the Tamla Motown insignia. Does “Sackville” in Hove still exist? The playing surfaces are clean with only one small mark on the first track on side two that makes no difference to the sound quality. The record comes in the correct inner sleeve, again stamped by the record shop.
The laminated flip-back sleeve is in borderline excellent/very good condition. There is slight ring-wear on the front with a small area of laminate discolouration just above the “G” of “Goin”. The rear has two shop black ink stamps in the left hand corners and slight discoloration to the white area of the sleeve.
All of these Motown albums come from the same source – an original 60’s Top Rank DJ who started in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production in the 1970’s. The vast majority of the collection is mint or unplayed, but he clearly loved his Motown as most of the 60’s and early 70’s singles are generally in very good condition, but with a few notable exceptions!
