For auction one of the true rarities from the peak British Glam era - CHUNKY: Albatross Baby/Road Runner Girl on the Orange Label
Recently rediscovered via compilations of those glam tracks and bands that never came close to chart success this is an absolute gem of the genre. Pulsing bass, driving drums, chiming guitar riffs and special effects/moog enhancing the groove Albatross Baby simply could not have come from another era or another year. It's a great record and much sought after by the worldwide devotees of junk shop glam.
As for Chunky themselves - who knows? They appear never to have made another record and certainly never came close to a glittering Top Of The Pops appearance with this track though perhaps they should have. It's a perfect example of what 1973 bounced to.
Copies of this record hardly ever appear and the few that have have never approached this condition.
The vinyl remains ultra bright and shiny and clean with only a light non audible mark to the B side.
The playback grades as EX+ Super playing copy , ultra clear crisp audio , no pops , or loud clicks ect. Mild crackle to run in but this then disappears into the deep bass and ultra clear vocals and guitar riffs.
The labels of the obscure Orange Record Company retain their deep dark colours and are completely free from rips, writing or sticker marks.
