Two years after their celebrated, self-named debut album, Cigarettes After Sex 2019 present a new long player. "Cry" is the name of the second album by the American band.
They recorded nine songs for it, a wonderful mix of ambient and dream pop. Greg Gonzalez (vocals), Jacob Tomsky (drums), Randy Miller (bass) and Phillip Tubbs (keyboard) made it to Mallorca this time.
A first foretaste of their new album was provided by cigarettes after sex with the single "Heavenly", which lives up to its name: dreamy-soft vocals, restrained drums, atmospheric guitar sounds and a certain retro vibe - that's what it could sound like in heaven.
