DESCRIPTION: A hot 1933 Clarence Williams blue shellac item recorded between the Jazz Kings Columbias and the later Vocalion sessions featuring the unusual combination of piano players Herman Chittison and Willie "the Lion" Smith, Cecil Scott on clarinet, Ikey Robinson on banjo, and Clarence blowing jug and contributing to the vocal on "Shim Sham Shimmy Dance" -- another version of Williams' QRS of "Do It Daddy." Eva Taylor handles most of the vocals. Ikey Robinson is prominently miked and his scorching banjo leads the band at a frantic pace. Beautiful copy.
