Description

NOTE-Please don't be concerned with my ebay feedback tally. I have

been successfully selling 78s for nearly 40 years. I know how to grade

them, and I know how to package them.

 
Credited on the label as by the Tennessee Music Men, Red McKenzie

and the Mound City Blue Blowers do Hoagy's "Georgia  On My Mind"

on Clarion 5389-C.


Muggsy Spanier on cornet, Jimmy Dorsey on reeds, Coleman Hawkins

sax, and Eddie Condon on banjo are all sitting in. Dorsey & Hawkins

play extended solos.


On the other side they play "I Can't Believe That You're In Love With

Me" with another nice Hawkins solo.


Red McKenzie plays the comb and does the vocal refrain on both

sides.


Recorded in New York on June 30, 1931, the record is in

excellent-minus (E-) condition. There are some small surface

scratches which make some isolated ticks. There are a number of

short edge lams, no noise.
