If you'd asked me 30 years ago if I would ever sell my Clash singles I would have kicked your ass. But at 58, I mean, I just don't play them anymore and I still own all the various subsequent digital single reproductions. How times change. Anyway, my kids' college saving accounts need fortification. This is the SECOND of 56 singles/EPs released by the only band that mattered. Perhaps my favorite punk song of all time and certainly my fav by this incredible band. This is the original U.K. 1977 release, I checked the matrix etching (CBS-S-5664-A-1 TIM'S/CBS-S-5664-B-1 TY). The wax looks Excellent but plays legit NM and it sounds great, while the sleeve is almost perfect except for some very slight, nominal ring imprint. Just being real. Cover image and gloss are fantastic.
CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION - this release is actually a promo that went out 23-7-1977. It is very likely a version that was distributed to radio stations and record stores for play. It does not appear to be the 1st press 1977 release for consumers.
Keep in mind I sample all listings on a full Linn Sondek setup and go in LOUD. Mostly original owner/purchased in L.A. in 70’s/80’s from the original Poobah and Aron’s Record Stores in Pasadena and Hollywood.
